"My role is to blend a delicate distortion into the truth, crafting a flawless getaway into fantasy."
Behind every great story lies a truth, but to what extent that truth is unveiled or maintained depends on the storyteller’s imagination and how much embellishment is built around it.
In reality, truth is subjective and relies on the audience’s perspective - what they perceive as believable.
A good storyteller knows how far to stretch a storyline based on a truth before it becomes an unbelievable piece of fiction or a tall tale. That, in essence, is the art of storytelling.
I present to you, my storylines based on truths. Are they believable, or am I just weaving a magical tall tale? It’s up to you to feel between the lines.
I hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoyed writing them. I look forward to your feedback. Keep in touch. There’s more to come.

Against the Odds rips open the locker-room door and drags you onto the ice with the
Melbourne Frostbite — a pack of ageing Australian ice hockey warhorses who refuse to die
quietly. They’re pushing seventy. Their knees are shot. Their livers are pickled. But they still
hit like freight trains.
After dismantling a team more than half their age in a savage semi-final, the Frostbite
team celebrate the only way they know how — beer spraying, blood dripping, insults flying
in a locker room thick with liniment and menace. These men aren’t clinging to the past. They
are the past — old-school, brutal, unfiltered — and still dangerous.
Enter Willow, a former Winter Olympian now steering Australia’s Winter campaign
through political quicksand. When the official fifties-plus squad collapses due to illness and
death, she needs a replacement team for the Winter World Masters Games in Finland. Every
road leads to Frostbite — brilliant and disciplined on the ice, yet catastrophically reckless off
it.
To see them in action, she attends the Molden Cup final. Down three-nil to a younger,
faster, surgically conditioned Melbourne Force side, Frostbite don’t panic. They slow the
game to a crawl. They lean. They grind. They make certain that every effort the Force team
makes, it hurts them on the scoreboard and on their bodies. By the final siren, the young
prima donnas are gasping, and the old-timers carve out a five-four comeback that feels like
armed robbery.
Willow makes an on-the-spot decision to take the Frostbite team to Finland with her,
knowing there was a reason Frostbite weren’t nominated in the first place. They’re wild, a
pack of drunks, and cause more mayhem than they’re worth. She’s forewarned - reign them
in, or it’s her head on the chopping block.
She’s aware the stakes are high because it isn’t just about attending an old-timers’
tournament. There’s a much bigger agenda.

A Hong Kong consultancy, ZillionZ, is reshaping Olympic sponsorship funding into a
betting market. Their algorithms rank athletes like racehorses. Their recommendation:
abandon Australia’s underperforming Winter Olympic program and redirect funds to
“probable medal assets.” Sentiment is dead. Community is irrelevant. Only return on
investment matters.
And ZillionZ plans to prove that their sports-betting model works at the upcoming
Winter World Masters Games. But that’s not where they make their money. They have set up
an exclusive, illegal betting ring behind the ZillionZ façade, catering to high-level executives
at companies that have chosen to use their consultancy services.
Willow needs a team that can do more than win — she wants chaos, unpredictability,
and to drive a hockey stick straight up ZillionZ “anal-ytics.”
The Frostbite boys don’t just accept. They escalate.
Rebranding as Koala Krush, they recruit a national super-squad of grizzled old-school
assassins, including Hannibal — a volatile, once-in-a-generation goaltender whose brilliance
burns as hot as his temper. They set up a war council. Beneath the crude jokes and outrageous
stories of days gone by lies razor-sharp tactical planning, both on and off the ice.
